Bristol-based multidisciplinary artist Pem returns with ‘to earth will you tell me when we land’. It’s a delicately wrought ballad that blends earthy folk influences with hypnotic, esoteric vocals. Its arrangement begins sparse and haunting, but her mesmeric voice carries the track from its initial whispers into a layered expanse underpinned by field recordings and analogue textures. “I liked that idea of perfect but fleeting alignment and how this kind of natural order can happen between people - connections that feel so meaningful but strangely fated,” Pem explains.
